I've been in Mexico on May 5th and it's just like any other day down there. Possibly in the state of Puebla they may celebrate the 5th of May since that's where the battle took place. it's true the Mexicans won a battle with the French but it didn't last and the French ruled Mexico for some time. As far as the US goes, it's just a day to celebrate a day in honor of Mexico which Mexico doesn't recognize, in most parts. I guess the USA thinks since there are so many Mexicans here we should all celebrate a day for the Mexicans. As for me,,, I could care less. Dick
