Firing order is good. It usually starts on 2-3 cylinders and then kicks to 4. When it runs good it runs real good. My thoughts are that the plugs are gumming up. I really need to pull the hood and check everything. I just thought if this distributor I have would work I would try it. Since it won't I will probably just tune it. I have had the carb and intake apart. Plugs and wires are fairly new. I hate working on mags as the points are kind of a pain but I guess that's next.
