As stated the distributors on the Diesel Internationals rotate opposite of a regular distributor. Have you checked that the spark plug wires are correct on the distributor cap? I bought a WD9 that was hard starting on gas. I did a bit of trouble shooting and found wires 3 and 4 were crossed. Wow what a difference that made. This wiring problem must have been going on for a long, long time. The past owner had welded a pipe fitting on the intake manifold so he could shoot starting fluid into the engine with out taking the air filter hose off.
