That's my one fear with rented land - it puts the long term viability of the operation out of my hands. At a minimum, I'd want to set a minimum term (5 years?) on any lease I would sign.

As far as marketing, it's something I do a lot of through work and as I said in one of my original posts, I'm just off a main commuter route into Ottawa. I have it in mind to open a small on-farm retail shop to sell eggs, chicken and some of the best beef you can buy either in retail packages or pre-sell by the side / whole.
