From what I understand, when you went to play the add-on games and other sites, it is then, that they (those other sites) were allowed to collect your info. Also, if you constantly clicked or liked tractor stuff, they realized you would buy tractor parts. The were allowed to collect your name and email and your profile consisting of age, gender and city and birth date. The political sites used that to target ads for the election.
