Alright community, I'm a total newbie, so please offer me grace. While I'm working to get my grandfather's old Massey running (for fun), I really need our JD 301A to work! It starts up fine, and runs pretty well overall. But it currently has absolutely NO GUTS! While running the bush hog, it has hardly any power at all. If I go uphill, I have to keep it in the lowest possible gear to keep it running. Even then I need to stop frequently to let the engine catch up to idle.
What are the most usual suspects for something like this? Timing? Carb problem? Etc.? Any thoughts?
I'm attaching a short video clip of the tractor running. I thought maybe a trained ear could catch something in the sound.
