Just behind the starter there is a flat area that faces up. There should be some numbers stamped in the metal in that spot if battery acid has not dripped there over the years and wore them off. Tell us what those numbers are.
From what you have told us so far it will be a 1959 to 1962 641 / 841 or a 1962 to 1965 2000 / 4000 as diesel did not come out till 1959 and in 1965 they changed to 3 cylinders.
