Since I see lots of questions on the forums but rarely a follow up on what finally happened, I'll add this.
Earlier in the month, I posted about my carb being in the shop for 8 months and got many opinions on what to do on the situation. I called the location again the same day as posting on this site and they had received the nut or whatever they were waiting on and less than a week later I had the carb returned and installed.
It cost quite a bit, but it doesn't leak fuel on the garage floor anymore so my wife is happy and it is actually getting gas to the engine now so I'm happy.
Still doesn't run due to a no spark issue, but we'll get to that.
