The goal is to get as many CCA (cold cranking amps) in the battery box as will fit.
You can either go with a large 12v truck battery, 2 high amp 12v automotive batteries in parallel, or go back original with 2 6v in series.
Most people go with the 12v as they cost less, have greater shelf turn over, and will fit other vehicles around the farm. Most agree they are less troublesome.
Once it is running, you need to check the charging system. If it still has a generator, and it's not working, you will be money and frustration ahead to convert it to an alternator. If you do convert it, be sure to connect the battery negative ground.
