Jon, that IH running gear was high so when I mounted the tongue to it I lapped the bottom half of the boxed channel under the rear and welded it flush with the back, That left 5-1/4" of clearance between tongue and body when parallel, at the front of trailer. I originally was going to build a scissors linkage that the winch would pull together to raise the box, but that system would have had a lot of pivoting joints. This set up was pretty simple, and it works like I expected. We will see how well it works when I try to raise it with the first load on it. The tower leg gives the winch good leverage to start the lift, and shift the center of gravity rearward. When the roller gets the box up to the bed rail, the geometry changes dramatically, but at that point the cable pull will be doubled with the use of a pulley back in the body. The end of the cable will be anchored into the bottom leg brace that I welded in yesterday. Loren
