I have owned 2 duramaxs and ran several as company vehicles.

Personally a 2003 2500hd reg. cab LT w/3.73 rears averaged 14 everyday use short trips usually with some sort of load Ocassional highway trips never got much over 16. Pulling a loaded 30' enclosed race car trailer with car, tools fuel, most likely overloaded would only get 9-10. 3hr. trip toward Rochester,NY. every sunday for the race season 3yrs.

2003 met an early demise when someone pulled out in front of me.That stunk, that truck did everything I needed it to do and worked well. Replaced it with 2007 classic identical in every repect except now a LBZ.16mpg everyday use, 19 sometimes 20 empty highway. 12 with trailer to rochester and always had the next size tire on them. 265 instead of stock 245.

Wierd thing about this truck it didn't matter how much or what it was hauling it got the same mileage just hook a trailer to it and it went to 12. Still have 2007 won't part with it and have been offered ungodly amounts by the LBZ lovers.

My previousy employer had 5 2008 up to 2015 3500hd gm dualies all ran well failures were only age, abuse and mileage related,

Young guys didn't like to run them didn't sound cool and weren't standards like the dodges and fords. Funny thing was the cooler they sounded, that's when the clutches, trannies, turbos or the dealer issues arose they would get back in the gm's to get their jobs done. Not to pick on the other brands but when the dodge and fords got quieter and smoother that didn't get hammered quite as bad. All of them would only average 10 mpg and mostly had mid 4 and up gearing and almost always overloaded.

Never had to replace an injector will probably have to some day.

a couple monthes after I bought the 2007 gm sent a letter out stateing that they doubled the engine warranty due to previous injection issues. 5yrs,100000mi. to 10 yr 200000mi. I'm out by a year now but It runs and starts like the day I bought it if not better. It is also bone stock never touched or chipped. Best truck I ever owned.

Yes I'm partial it's worked for me just as many friends have Dodges and Fords work for them.

That's a nice looking hauler and if some of original gm issues have been dealt with and been maintained might be a good one.

Good Luck
