Crooks leave hundreds of thousands of houses alone whether they have guns or not. My friend was burglarized on Christmas day 2015. He owns guns. Another friend's uncle was burglarized AND THEY TOOK HIS GUNS! He was on the farm at the time. They walked in, grabbed guns, and left. He didn't know until he went in the house.

I've never been robbed or assaulted, and I never carry a gun unless I am hunting. Your guns do nothing to "keep the crooks away". You're likely to never ever get robbed or assaulted, no matter how armed or unarmed you are as you go about your business. If you need a piece of steel on your person to feel safe, that's on you.
