Quite a few years ago the Union pacific steam program retubed the 844 steam engines boiler. They bought all of the tubing needed and installed it. Well ater a few trips the boiler started leaking. The tubes were made in China and they were absolute junk even though they were rated as being the correct metallurgy etc. Pin holes all over the place. Had a sprinkler can inside the fire box. Nothing like having to retube a boiler you just did a couple of months before.
