Correct me if I'm wrong but there is only one steel plant in Canada (DOFASCO in Hamilton, Ontario) that makes steel from "scratch" (from iron ore and the other raw materials in the steel-making process). All other steel manufacturing up here is recycled scrap steel. We have one of those plants here in Edmonton. Not the prettiest plant of any kind on the planet to look at, goes way back to the 50's I think and a web search shows a fair amount of dissatisfaction by employees. Mind you, when given the opportunity to gripe, a lot of workers will vent right?
