I understand completely. The farm I bought north of Howell was homesteaded in the 1830's and I bought it thru an estate. Four siblings. The two boys were given all the land on the north side of the road. A daughter got the land and house on the south side of the road. I am not sure what the other daughter got, but she must have been bought out by her sister. When the sister died, the property went into her estate and the brothers started using it like they owned it, but the remaining sister was executor and she put it up for sale. I came along 8 years later. Everyone was feuding and it took me two years of negotiations to get them to agree the place was not (literally) worth over $1M. It took another five years to get to a point where the one brother could be civil to me when we talked. The other is polite but still distant. I admire your dedication to your heritage. A rare thing these days.
