Thanks to all who have given ideas/fixes for this problem. My thought was with the fence in the way, I could not auger(by hand)a new hole. I have no post hole auger(pto). I have no post driver. Pushing post down with a loader into undisturbed soils may not go so well, leaning away from fence, broken post or point on the post, possible kick out. So thought pushing into existing hole could work. Like some said post material is many times very intack below the surface. For the work involved and getting the old post up and out of the ground, I'll probably just use a steel post along side or on the back side. Thanks all for the input gobble
