Bruce here in the states there is negative cash flow on the majority of the dairies. Without any type of price support/quotas the smaller producers are not netting enough for family living expenses. Some larger dairies are not doing any better. I know of Huge dairy that is losing $100K a month right now. Are they cutting back??? No they are actually ramping UP production. That is the trouble here in the states too. The big guys all seem to think there is an endless demand for diary products. So if they double their herd size things should just be great. Supply is WAY ahead of demand.
