Had a similar situation in my hometown. One of four siblings talked their elderly mom into putting the farm into a trust for him, and him alone.
Unfortunately for him, mom took a turn for the worse and required nursing home care. The farm hadn't been in trust long enough, so the nursing home started the process to take it for the mom's care.
The one sibling actually had the audacity to contact the other three, demanding they all chip in for the nursing home for mom (obviously to save the farm for him). Needless to say, that didn't happen, and the one sibling ended up with worse than nothing, as no one else in the family will talk to or have anything to do with him.
