I was figuring a couple weeks ago that I have been the one doing all the milking since I was 13 or 14 years old, that is over 20 years, in that time I have missed only about 15 to 20 milkings! Went on halves with dad when I bought cows to double the herd 6 years ago and have been doing most everything by myself during that time, he is not that good of condition. Have not had a day off in over 12 years and during winter chores alone take 10 to 12 hours a day.
The straw that broke the camels back was all the fresh cows and heifers I was having during the week of the full moon in December, all at night, some of those days I didn't get much sleep and it took a tole on me! Felt like a Zombie for a while there, something needed to open my eyes I guess!
