While we're posting about Detroits, it's a good time time to ask;
I've come up with a 3-71 on an irrigation pump, all mounted on a trailer. It hasn't run since who knows but does turn.
I haven't had any luck finding the year or decoding the model online. It seems to be earlier than what's on the serial # lists I've found so far.
Model 3055C Serial 3a-12086
It has these numbers on the block and on a long tag on the valve cover and on the bellhousing. Under the faded and chipping Detroit green, the base paint coat is yellow.
