That's the problem, when the engineer doesn't work with the builder. Engineers have the technical knowledge but builders have the common sense. Here is a good example. I recently rebuilt the engine on a Toyota pickup with a 22R engine. If you need to work on the timing chain or the oil pump, you have to remove and replace the head to remove and replace the timing cover and get it to seal properly. Stupid design. Same with the old Chevy V8 engine. You have to remove the oil pan to take off the timing cover. Stupid design!
