Does anyone know offhand where the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor is located on a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country van? I haven't started looking yet, but I assume it's somewhere in front of the radiator where "clean" air will hit it as it provides the signal for the outside thermometer, among other functions.
Here's the scene. A week or two ago the heater and outside thermometer started acting strange. I put my scanner on it and had a code P0073 for the ambient air temp sensor. I didn't have time to mess with it so my wife took the van to our local Chrysler dealer. They replaced the sensor for $55 and everything worked OK for a couple of days, then started acting up again. My wife went back to the Chrysler dealer today and they told her it was a wiring problem that could cost a couple hundred dollars to find.
Knowing that outfit, they may well have installed a new sensor that failed after a couple days, and then instead of just replacing the sensor under warranty, they'll try to recoup their labor by claiming it was a wiring problem.
Anyhoo, thanks in advance if anyone knows offhand where the sensor is located.
