On a Kinze 2000 or 3000 6 row planter with 5 push/splitter units up front the transport wheels must drive over four of the rows of beans the push/splitter units have planted. I currently have a John Deere 7000 with 5 splitters on the back. No wheels run over any newly planted bean seed. Have a chance to buy a Kinze 6/11, but sometimes wonder if my planter might actually be better. If there isn't really any issue with running over the seeds then I don't have a problem up grading. I just know that sometimes on the end rows seeds have a problem emerging when the tractor/planter wheels "pack" them in. I am sure when it is dry there isn't much of a problem. I don't know if I would like wheels packing the beans in if it was a little tacky. Some of my soils are a little plastic at times - fine textured clay. Anyone have any experience with soybean seed emergence with a Kinze splitter????? Thanks.
