That old tractor has likely served several faithfully for a longer time than the owner has lived and deserves something better than the ugly, disgraceful green and yellow paint. The old tractor should have been permitted to rust and ripen for his last years of faithful service. It perhaps plowed the wheat fields to produce flour to make the bread to feel soldiers of the War or powered the sawmill to make lumber for school and church buildings. It has had its dignity taken from it. Now he weeps tears of 140 gear oil remembering how some farm family celebrated the new tractor that would relieve the tired old mules and save the owner from having to walk out to the barn to feed the mules.
