May have to get close to white hot in a short area if it has a bend instead of a bow. Boss bought a used crane that had a big dent in the boom cylinder and couldn't get the piston and rod out of it. Was going to spend 2500 to buy a new one and asked if I could try to take dent out. Used a rosebud to heat the dent white hot and used ice water to cool. Had to heat 3 times each time a smaller area. Pulled the dent out of it and is still using it with no more rebuilds on cylinder. Got my regular hourly pay..LOL
