Are lap the seat with a lead pencil... Why I use a lead pencil I don't have a wood dowel should get one tho... Make sure the seat is TIGHT in the base of the carb. A screwdriver is not the right tool make one out of flat stock a old file it needs to be wide enoufh to get a good grip on the seat.. Use a adjustable wrench on the tool to get it TIGHT.
I don't buy into hitting a seat to set it..... Clean and deburr it life will be good...
