I just did my diesel 5000 that was froze up. I pulled the head and cleaned up as much as I could and then poured ATF in the bores. Then I gave it a bump with a socket and breaker bar each time I walked by. After a couple days I got it to rock free and then discovered my lifters were rusted in their bores. Soaked them with PB and they came loose. Plan on dropping the pan which involves dropping the front axle. I then put 8" long pieces of 3/4" all thread in the front tub/ engine block holes and slid the the tub away far enough to drop the pan. I'm glad I dropped the pan because even though things were turning over freely, when I removed the Pistons I found the rings stuck. Hone, re- ring, new rod bearings, had the head decked and valves ground. I put it back together and it made fire. Many other things yet to do; wiring, mount radiator and body panels.
