Here in good old Kentucky, we can't pay our teachers, have cut back on child protective services, rank number one in the nation in child deaths by abusive/druggie parents, often due to lack of social services involvement......but paid both major university basketball coaches over $7 million last year. The one that got fired for payoffs and providing hookers to recruits is sueing the university to pay him $34 million in long term contract money commitments.
The state is essentially bankrupt...forced into a 6% across the board budget cut.
This, in a state with the highest church attendance in the nation.
