I don't understand why you had problems refueling a LPG powered vehicle. Back in the 70's I drove a Ford 1 ton with GN trailer powered by LPG picking up/delivering farm equipment. I had no problem refilling fuel tank utilizing a wet line on a 250 gallon storage tank. Open vehicle tank bleeder with wet hose attached when liquid sprayed out of bleeder shut both valves. IIRC that 460 cid engine ran better on LPG than gasoline.
