I could maybe see using the back half of a running gear, but not a whole 4-wheel running gear. A 2 wheel cart is shorter, easier to back-up, would have the full weight of the back of the tractor to counter- balance the weight of the implement your lifting. And it would not be that hard to install a PTO shaft that would run from tractor's pto shaft to the ASAE approved dimensions of the pto to cat 1 & 2 3-pt hitch. That would let you pull a bush hog, even a post hole digger.
Even when Dad had a tractor with 3 pt hitch we never used it for a single thing, well, we used the rockshaft of the 4010 with the included pipe or bar to lift/lower the left side of the front mounted cultivator. That pipe/bar running 3-4 inches above the left side of the platform made a GREAT tripping hazard getting off the tractor, resulting in a FACE PLANT into the gangs of the cultivator. I'd like to meet the SOB Engineer that thought that was a good idea.
