Mark you are right here in Iowa. One of the first things they taught us when I became a township trustee. Your animals get out you are responsible unless you have a neighbor that doesn't keep up his fences. If they get out on his half of a non repaired fence it is his problem. Iowa has fence laws that are very clear. I wish the realtors would explain them to these people buying an acreage, would prevent a lot of problems.
