I'll tell you, if you decided to paint it, I found some awesome stuff! It is a Nason product, 422-05 (I think) But it is "Chassis Black" and the best part is it is premixed, ready to shoot in the can. $88 a gallon from AutoHouse / Car Quest.
It dries to touch in about 10 min, and I BURRIED our trailer in it (shot the entire gallon in 40 minutes), coat after coat, then for prettiness I threw on a thick coat of Clear about 15 min after the final coat of Black was dry to the touch.
The Chassis Black is VERY durable, and requires little to no prep. It has a Rust Inhibitor in it as well. Only down side is there is no UV protection, and it dries to more of a Matte black, but if you put the clear on it, it turns out beautiful!
