I agree it was oversimplified. But the unions have proven over and over and over that they would rather a company close their doors and move offshore rather than take one nickle per hour pay cut.
Reminds me of the song "40 Hours Week for a living".
One line says and "they're worth more than they're paid". If the value of what you do is not worth more than you're paid then there won't be a job. Pretty simple math.
