They say it isn't the actual flu - its just your reaction to the shot. You feel sick, fever, and develop a cough. Sounds like the flu to me.
Our oldest son got flu shots because his immunity was compromised due to his health. He ended up in the PICU two years in a row a week after getting his flu shot - that's when we stopped subjecting him to the shot. The shots usually only have a bout a 30% chance of being effective - the last couple of years they have been about 5% (?) effective - something about the H1N1 strains being harder to make a vaccine for.
