Few years back I started a 500 cd It got to around 900 bucks then I get a notice that any cd under a thousand there would be a 50 dollar charge a year. I called and asked them. mine was due in feb and she told me if I cashed it in it would not be charged. it really was my wifes cd. I told her to cash it in feb. she did and closed it out minus the 50 dollar charge. No banks for me anymore. Credit unions only. they pay ( how small it is ) interest on all accounts regardless of amount. my checks are free also. no brainer to me.
