Well, as I have learned, that shop is now a toxic site. He will have to contract with the EPA and one of their subs for clean up. The foundation will need to be removed to include all soil within 10 feet of the perimeter of the building to a depth of at least 2 feet. All this will have to be hauled off by a hazmat hauler certified to haul such material. It must go to a preapproved land fill again certified. All the various materials will need to be separated. The fire may have been intense enough to have altered the site geologically so it will have to be recertified as suitable for constructing upon and the foundation reengineered and upgraded. At least that is what we are having to do.
