I'll guess to utilize Boling Machine shop seals one must replace bushings @ $95 per set. I was taught when employed by a JD dealer as a service manager to only replace L/D bushings if worn enough to justify replacement. I've never had a problem with leakage when utilizing JD L/D seals on JD utility tractors if shaft was not worn too much & shaft side play was eliminated with shim washers.
I agree Bolings bushings/seals for 3010/4010/3020/4020 are far superior to JD seals but I've never seen 1st hand Bolings seals for a JD 20-55 series utility tractor L/D shaft
