I'm not 'smart' enough to suggest what or how you charge, but it would seem to me that doing an initial overgrown field would be more expensive simply due to the unknown factor; rocks, abandoned equipment, old fences, big hidden holes, etc. If the grass/weeds are lower, such as on subsequent cuttings, then might charge a little less as the job "should" go faster than before.
The (very) few times I cut fields for others many years ago, this is how I did it. ...Actually, I always would under-bid, which is why I didn't do it very often. :wink:
