I find it strange how people relate to spending money on what is essentially an insurance policy. For example, if you pay $1000 per year to insure your car or truck, at the end of the year I don't hear anyone thinking they got fleeced because they didn't get to use it to repair your vehicle after being in an accident. Yet, when it comes to roadside assistance like AAA or CAA up here in Canada, people often equate the investment (say $100) per year as being worth it or not depending on whether you got to put it to use. Personally, I prefer to pay the $100 and never get to use it. Same thing for life insurance, I'd prefer to keep on going without putting it to the test.
