I have my Grandpas sleigh bells. He farmed with horses well into the 1990s, and they are a reminder of him when I see and hear them! Great memories!
I often felt that he did not appreciate me! I played basketball, not football for one. BUT, I was thrilled when he asked me to rebuild a snow wagon runner for him! (It was a working wagon, nothing fancy about it, but it had runners for snow only!) You see, I am a carpenter and it was made of wood with a metal band around. It had rotted from age and did not work anymore. I was truly honored that he asked me to do that for him!
