"MN valley man", yes, the third terminal is for the P(ilot) light.
If connected to the L(oad) terminal, the pilot light will flash for either a right or left turn, but will light or glow steady when turn signals are not in use, due to being feed power through the heating element in the flasher when turn signals are not being used.
