I should mention, that most of my complaints with MF had to do with the people (both dealership and MF) rather than the MF tractors that I owned, both of which were small farm tractors rather than Iseki made CUTS.
In the late 1980s, I owned a Bolens 17 HP hydro CUT made by ISEKI but with a Mitsubishi engine. Though I owned it for only a short while, I had no serious issues.
Several years ago, before things went to he!! with MF, I compared the Iseki made MF compact with the Kubota BX series for a friend. The MF machine specd-out a bit better as it had position control, a few more cubic inches operating at lower RPM, and a terrain following deck rather than the currently popular suspended deck as used on the BX and most (all?) others. (I will never buy a tractor, even a SCUT, without position control.) Fortunately, my friend bought the Kubota. Had he bought the MF, he would now be driving over 80 miles for parts and service.
