So... I bought this superM with a stuck engine at a local auction. Paid too much but I wanted one anyway. Got it home yesterday(Friday) and put it in the shop to thaw. One can always hope a bit of warmth and some working a rear wheel will pop it loose. No good, won't budge. I then wanted to look down each cylinder with my bore scope, so had to wait for today to get it from home. After a look I thought they looked almost perfect maybe cyl four piston was a bit corroded by the cylinder wall. I put some atf/acetone mix (thanks Old) in each cyl and applied air pressure to each (starting with number one) for awhile. I loosened the rocker arm shaft and made sure each valve was loose, they were. When I got to cyl four I went for more tools and across the shop I hear a rather loud POP. The engine popped loose rom the pressure on numer 4. After putting the engine back together and some points filing it came to life. Took about six hours from start of soaking to driving it out of the shop. WIN!!!
I will need to rework the hyd lines. For some reason the line comes off the pump and is tee'd going to a splitter for the power steering and also the main hydraulic under the gas tank. With the main hyd lever all the way forward there is no power steering. With it midway in the hold position, there is power steering. And all the way out the steering is some better, feels more powerful although it doesn't need it on the cement shop floor. The splitter also feeds the two way valve.
I do have a question. I assume the valve under the tank is a one way like the old belly pumps. Both of those ports get pressure at the same time??

I have been restoring old Farm Tractors for the past 6 years, and have found it easier and less expensive to hit all the auctions and purchase whole tractors for parts needed. My wife who works at a local school, and only has weekends and summers off, while on t
