Hey Dave it is a dry stacked wall, some of the locals call them Slave Walls. It is probably a couple hundred years old, but was tuned up recently. A young guy from down south spent about a year off and on working on it. His work is beautiful, you can't tell his work from the original. A lot of this land was at one time part of Wakefield Manor Plantation in Huntly, VA
Still haven't figured out who or what the cabbage is all about.
