Toughest tires I ever installed were some old used 7.50x16 truck tires on the front of the Cockshutt 40. They were ten ply tires and a bit of a challenge to install on a drop centre rim without proper equipment but we got it done. That was in the mid 1970s and those tires are still on the tractor and looking good. Regarding aircraft tires, if anybody remembers the Cockshutt combines from the early 1950s, they had those "diamond stud tread" aircraft tires installed right from the factory. On the driving wheels.
