Not looking to start an argument here, but back in the 70's I did the opposite change, from 14.9-38's to 16.9-38's on my Oliver Super 88. While the change in speed was biggest in high gear, it was noticeable in all gears. Where before I baled mostly in second gear, afterward I baled mostly in first gear because of the increase in ground speed. Looking at the difference in tire height on my current tractors,1850=18.4/34 and 1655=16.9/34, I'd expect the ground speed difference to be at least as noticeable.
