Could be they had previous film footage of them stealing a lot of other items ? They can use all that in court to build a case. My Daughter nabbed a girl stealing a pack of gum ! But she knew this person from film footage but no one could ever catch her. The cop that came when she called them chewed my Daughter out that he was called over a pack of gum. He was too lazy to do the paperwork. She was really upset ,but was doing her job properly. Ended up the cop had to apologize to her.
