Don't look now but , every one that owns live stock is just getting screwed over again. End of story.
It is nothing , or little to do with a flood some where, or a drought some where else.The price is down because some trader selling or buying futures has stopped , or started buying. Or some packers have just decided to slow down on buying , to wait for the price to back off. It is not like the farmers can just hold their market cattle back till they see a price they like, they have to go, and the buyers know this. It cost the farmer $$$ to hold them back and feed them, so they dump the cattle. later when the supply falters , and the price tickles back up, all the farmers jump back in again. Been going on forever, numbers are just getting bigger , and it hurts more to take the losses now. It is like gambling, if you can't afford to lose,stay out of the casino . That is about what it comes down to.
