If you DO NOT let that hernia heal you will regret it. IF you let the mesh heal correctly you will be good as new. If you screw around and tear it you will be in pain all of the time. They may not be able to fix it the second time either. I know of two guys that did not wait to heal and they are mostly crippled up by not being able to do much of any work.
Hiring the rest of the harvest done and some help around the farm will be cheaper than the long term health care cost of messing your recovery up.
