Old running joke at work was sending a newbie around looking for the copper magnet. They tried it on me and while looking at the person that said it I pointed to another newbie and she fell for it. We didn't see her for almost 30 minutes.
Another joke was to send a newbie outside at Thanksgiving time to help unload the turkey truck. Story went that one time the founder/owner came in and seen someone standing outside in a snow storm and asked "What are you doing?" Response was "Waiting on the turkey truck", The boss said "Oh OK" and walked away leaving a paid employee outside. Needless to say there was no turkey truck.
